Caribbean Track & Field Sports Visitors Program

The Caribbean Track & Field Sports Visitors program was the first facilitated by the University of Tennessee’s Center for Sport, Peace, & Society for the Empowering Women and Girls through Sports initiative.

The program took place from June 18-28, 2012 in Washington D.C. and Eugene, Orgeon and included participants and coaches from Suriname, the Bahamas, Trinidad & Tobago, and St. Vincent and the Grenadines. While in Oregon, the group took part in the festivities surrounding the USA Track and Field Olympic Trials. As part of the program, the Caribbean delegation also engaged in leadership activities with Nike, adaptive sports clinics with Mobility International, meet and greet sessions with University of Tennessee Track & Field athletes, and full immersion in TrackTown 2012.
