Para-Athlete Pushes Towards An Inclusive Future For Youth In Nepal

Sarita Thulung is a poly athlete; she is not only an international swimmer, but also a wheelchair basketball player, wheelchair dancer, teacher, and entrepreneur. She holds the record for the highest number of gold medals in Nepal by a woman with a disability. Sarita is also currently chairman of the Culture Society of Persons with Disabilities.

Sarita’s goal is to make Nepal‘s disabled women financially strong. She hopes to increase the number of people with disabilities participating in sports and train them to compete on a national and international level. Additionally, Sarita hopes to develop a policy that would provide government allowance and/or a salary to national players. Sarita is on a mission to provide elite training to women with disabilities from the villages who want to play sports and increase their strength and self-esteem.
