Lawyer Won't Stop Until Every Ecuadorian Has Access

Sara is an Ecuadorian lawyer with over seven years of experience in the field. She holds a degree in Law from the Universidad de las Americas in Ecuador and a diploma in Human Rights of the XXI Century from the Universidad de Salamanca in Spain. Throughout her career, Sara has worked as a lawyer in private sector law firms and in the public sector in the Supreme Court in Ecuador as a judge assistant. She has also worked for NGOs like the Range of Motion Project on diverse activities, such as the development of legal documents, clinic work around patients, group attention with volunteer programs, and the creation of a digital platform for the development of information and resources for amputees and professionals in Spanish.

When she recovered her mobility after her amputation, she began to practice sports like mountaineering and athleticism. She is currently preparing for a marathon and empowering people with disabilities to practice sports through a personal project. She strongly understands disability law and how it relates to sports. She has knowledge of relevant international legislation and The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), as well as an understanding of the legal rights of individuals with disabilities in Ecuador. Sara also has experience working with individuals with disabilities and a deep understanding of their unique challenges from her personal experience as an amputee. Sara has worked closely with athletes, coaches, organizations, and government agencies. Personally and professionally, she is an advocate for people with disabilities and continuously empowers them to create new spaces for them to thrive as individuals and experience every aspect of a fulfilling and successful life.
