Fueling Futures: Inspiring Women and Youth Through Health, Nutrition, & Sports

Ghoroor Abdulwaheed is a dedicated health and sports affairs specialist from Qatar and the founder of NutritionByGhoroor, a platform designed to share valuable health and nutrition knowledge with the community.

In her role, Ghoroor regularly conducts school workshops aimed at inspiring the younger generation to adopt healthier and more active lifestyles. She also holds public seminars and private consultations to empower women regarding their health and body image.

Ghoroor has a strong background in humanitarian work, having interned at United Nations Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (UNESCO)’s office in Doha and participated in the Ensaniyat project, which promotes social inclusion and aims to eliminate discrimination against migrant workers. Her dedication to peace and social justice was further recognized when she was chosen as a peace ambassador at the United Nations Peace Summit Conference of Emerging Leaders in 2018.

Ghoroor’s mission is to empower the next generation of female athletes in Qatar by promoting physical activity and enhancing pre-university education. Through her work, she is committed to fostering a healthier, more inclusive community and inspiring young women to reach their full potential in sports and beyond.

Ghoroor will be mentored by Dr. Laura Burton, Department Head, Educational Leadership and Professor of Sport Management, and Dr. Danielle DeRosa Assistant Professor in Residence at the University of Connecticut in Storrs, Connecticut.
