Breaking Barriers: Rowing Toward Empowerment for Women in Sport and Society
Daniela Nachazelova is a founding member of Czech Women in Sport and a former world-class rower.
Her personal mission is to lead by example, adhering to her core values and principles as well as accepted practices of leading global organizations like the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and World Athletics, regardless of the challenges she faces.
Following her retirement from competitive rowing, Daniela shifted her focus to education and writing, using her platform to advocate for societal change. Her first book focused on struggles and triumphs of women in rowing. In mid-September, Daniela released her debut novel in Czech, a provocative work that examines the role of women in Czech society and is anticipated to spark considerable debate.
Daniela also recently completed the Sports Diplomacy MPA course under the Czech
Olympic Committee, and will be seeking to become a Vice President or President of the Czech Olympic Committee. She has been accepted into the IOC Safeguarding Officer program and will attend a Diplomatic Academy founded by a former Czech Minister of Defense who will also serve as a mentor.
Daniela will be mentored by Shay Wallach, Associate Director of Inclusion; Gretchen Miron, Director of Inclusion; and their team at NCAA in Indianapolis, Indiana.
