Innovation for Inclusion: Pioneering Swiss Sports for All

Bea Stadler is dedicated to an inclusive society in Switzerland by developing and sustainably implementing innovative strategies for inclusive sports programs. Her mission is to break down barriers and create equal opportunities for all children to access sports activities. Her passion for promoting inclusive sports programs is rooted in her personal experience with a late acquired disability. As an active athlete on the Swiss women’s wheelchair basketball team and National Project Manager for Special Olympics in Switzerland, Bea knows first-hand the challenges and successes associated with participating in disability sports.

As National Project Manager for Special Olympics, she and her team are responsible for the development and sustainable implementation of three new projects to promote inclusive sports in Swiss schools. Bea hopes that with the innovative strategies she will gain from her experience during the GSMP, she can further raise awareness of the importance of inclusive sports. Bea is looking forward to expanding her professional network in a global community of like-minded sports leaders and benefiting from sharing experiences, especially in regard to the unique opportunity of planning and organizing the Special Olympics World Winter Games in Switzerland in 2029. Bea is interested in learning how her peers and mentors are using grassroots sports organizations to affect positive social change and shape the inclusive environment of tomorrow.

Bea will be mentored by Tina Acosta, Director of Program Outreach at Turnstone Center.
