Elevating Performance: A Journey in Sport Psychology and Athlete Empowerment

Currently serving as Supervisor of Sport Psychology at the Sports Company of Trinidad and Tobago (SPORTT), Amanda Johnson has established herself as a trusted expert in enhancing athletic performance through psychological development.

Her passion for athletics stems from her own experiences, including captaining her secondary school football (soccer) team and participating in Trinidad and Tobago’s women’s professional football (soccer) league.

Amanda’s career highlights include guiding numerous national teams and athletes, from juniors to seniors, through prestigious competitions such as the Pan American Games, Central American and Caribbean (CAC) Games, Caribbean Free Trade Association (CARIFTA), and World Championships. She also extends her impact beyond SPORTT as a former Mental Skills Coach for Cricket West Indies, contributing significantly to age-group teams and the senior women’s squad.

Beyond her professional achievements, Amanda’s personal mission centers on fostering a supportive environment where athletes and non-athletes alike can cultivate excellence in sports and life through holistic psychological development. Her dedication, expertise, and a holistic approach to sport psychology enriches the lives and performances of athletes across Trinidad and Tobago.

Amanda will be mentored by Dr. Meg Hancock, Associate Professor at the University of Louisville in Louisville, Kentucky.
