CEO promotes educational equity for vulnerable populations in Brazil
Growing up in a low-opportunity neighborhood called Beco de Anchieta in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Renata Siquiera understood from a young age the essentiality of education in aiding social progress, from both an individual and communal standpoint. As a beneficiary of education policies that focus on empowering those from neglected communities, Renata has dedicated her professional work to providing others with the same opportunities.
After attaining degrees in Social Sciences and Communication, Renata went back to school to pursue a doctoral degree in Production Engineering at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ). In her research, Renata focuses on developing strategies for corporate growth and accountability. With ample research experience, Renata has spent the last 12 years working for Bola Pra Frente Institute, located in Muquiço, Rio de Janeiro, which aims to bring quality education and gender equity to vulnerable populations in Brazil. She currently serves as the organization’s CEO and continues to look for ways to expand its influence.
At the GSMP, Renata hopes to establish connections with other female leaders in sport and learn about some of the tools being implemented for sport business around the world. Renata will be mentored by Julie Eddleman, EVP, Global Chief Commercial Officer, DoubleVerify, Diane Cummins, Senior Consultant, Simpactful, and their team in Cincinnati, Ohio.
